An American woman has looked to Botox as a solution to the medical problems suffered by her son, according to grinza.com.

Her four-year-old son Joe Elliot is in long-term pain after being diagnosed by doctors with cerebral palsy. The condition caused Joe’s health deteriorate as his muscles gradually grew tighter which eventually led to him being immobile.

Joe’s mother invested all her money into St Louis Children’s Hospital in Missouri to allow her son to take advantage of the state-of-the-art treatments which would allow her child to walk and ease his pain.

The 32-year-old mother from Banstead commented she “would do anything to give my son more independence”. Botox was injected into both of Joe’s legs to give temporary relaxation of his muscles. The treatment eased his pain and allowed him to move his legs again. Each Botox treatment lasts for around six months, which shows Botox is a short term but effective treatment to wrinkles and celebral palsy.

Distributors of Logo TV’s new reality series ‘Pretty Hurts’ will be offering Botox treatments to their buyers at ‘Passion Distribution’s MIPTV’s breakfast morning,’ according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Beauty specialist Rand Rusher will be attending the morning to give beauty consultations and administer free Botox injections.

The treatments are being offered as part of the promotion of the new reality TV show.

Passion chief executive Sally Miles said: “We’re really excited.”

“Rand will arrive in scrubs and over breakfast he will be giving consultations,” she said.

The new series is to go behind the scenes in a reality style documentary at Leaf & Rusher, Rusher is a registered RN and co-founder of the business.

The series is said to feature stars like Janice Dickinson and Felicity Huffman.

The event will be held at Palais De Festivals in Cannes on April 4th.

A London-based specialist in cosmetic surgery has commented on research recently conducted that suggests that Botox isn’t only effective in providing a difference in people’s appearance – but also the quality of life the applicant experiences.

The study conducted by Dr. Steven H. Dayan and DeNova Research, involved a hundred test subjects.

With the pressure to look good constantly growing and many people turning to healthy lifestyles, exercise or Botox to stay ahead of the game America’s Daily Beast has named the vainest Cities in the USA.

In their article they explained how they arrived at the their calculations. Firstly they looked at the numbers of people who work out each day. Then they looked into the percentage of people within the cities that were not overweight and obese according to the Centers of Disease Control and Preventions BMI statistics.

Finally, they looked into monthly household spend on personal care. This includes costs from a number of areas including cosmetics, drug stores, spas, treatments, gyms and salons – the data on which was taken from Government and private sources and carried double the weight of the other two areas of data in the calculations.

From this study, the city with the healthiest, vainest and most cosmetically-aware people was found to be San Francisco. With monthly personal care spending at $111, percentage of population not overweight at 50.3% and 20.4% of the community belonging to a gym, San Francisco has shown that they take pride in their appearance.
